Sacmi Technology for beverage and closures in the spotlight at Gulfood Manufacturing

17 September 2018

Sacmi will be back in Dubai for the 2018 edition of Gulfood Manufacturing, a major Gulf region fair showcasing packaging, beverage and food processing technology. Held in the United Arab Emirates (6-9 November), the fair will host at least 1,600 exhibitors from 60 countries displaying state-of-the-art technology and plant engineering solutions for the beverage and closures industries.

Taking pride of place on the Group stand (152 square metres, hall 56, booth C5-28A6-27) will be Sacmi's high-speed filling line. Here, visitors can learn more about the new line, designed to operate at up to 72,000 bottles per hour. Alongside it will be Sacmi's cutting-edge cap manufacturing solutions: already a world leader with CCM compression technology, the Group will be showcasing the new CCM24 which, like the other presses in the series, ensures low consumption and better quality of the process (based on continuous plastic extrusion).

Moreover, independent control of each mould cavity entails considerable advantages in terms of quality control and management efficiency; what's more, Sacmi develops - working closely with the customer - complete cap-preform systems characterised by high performance and low weights. What makes the difference is Sacmi's extensive know-how, gained - in parallel with closure manufacturing - on preform production lines with IPS (injection preform moulding) technology. All versions of the solution combine user-friendliness and rapid size changeovers with major design innovations; on the new IPS 400, the latter include automated preform unloading in the post-cooling area, a feature that eliminates any need for belts or other conveyors.

Alongside customised cap-preform solutions (personalised also from a design standpoint), Sacmi provides comprehensive, integrated plant engineering. The latter conjoin upstream cap/preform manufacturing with downstream bottling; the resulting configuration is the Sacmi Heroline, the latest solution for bottlers and converters that, by merging the various stages and optimising logistics, provides new production, efficiency and cost optimisation opportunities.

Sacmi labelling solutions (such as the ERF labeller, incorporated within the new Heroline, which boasts the best usability in its category) play a key role on these integrated lines. Last but far from least, there is the innovative range of Sacmi SBF blow-moulding machines with the dual cavity system, the unbeatable medium-small format solution that ensures outstanding productivity. For filling, instead, Gulfood will see Sacmi highlight the new contactless valves which guarantee fully ultra-clean process control. And that's not the only special valve Sacmi will be showcasing: visitors can also see a valve specially developed for the carbonated and CSD (carbonated soft drinks) sector.

Dubai will also see the Sacmi Group's Packaging & Chocolate division out in force (the latter is a world leader in the moulding, wrapping and primary/secondary packaging of chocolate and bakery products). More specially, the division will showcase its latest product range, from ground-breaking solutions in its long-standing chocolate moulding business to latest-generation wrapping solutions that combine appeal with excellent product protection.

Providing excellent technology and service, Sacmi is a solid presence in the Middle East through Sacmi Middle East, a valuable assistance and after-sales hub. Every new Sacmi solution is developed in close collaboration with the Group's R&D facilities, all with a view to Industry 4.0. In short, that means on-machine implementation of advanced monitoring and diagnostic functions, accessible via any device connected to the company network no matter where you are.
