Asian premiere: Körber presents high-performance machines at China's major pharmaceutical trade fair CIPM

16 November 2020

At China's most important pharmaceutical trade fair, the CIPM in Chongqing, the international technology group Körber will present its integrated range of services along the entire pharmaceutical value chain. The company will be exhibiting two high-performance machines, which will be on show in Asia for the first time. Körber is making its trade fair appearance accessible to a worldwide audience via a daily live stream. At the International Pharmaceutical Machinery Exposition (CIPM) in Chongqing from November 3 to 5, Körber's Business Area Pharma will be presenting its integrated portfolio of consulting, inspection, handling, packaging machines and materials, track & trace and software.

"Our customers will find an integrated range of services that reduces the complexity of their pharmaceutical production while at the same time increasing efficiency," promises Jörn Gossé, Chief Executive Officer in Körber's Business Area Pharma. "From packaging development and production equipment to consulting and software, our customers can rely on us to understand the challenges of highly regulated pharmaceutical production and to work with them to develop solutions that will help them unlock the full potential of their pharmaceutical and biotech production." At CIPM, the Körber Business Area, formerly Körber Medipak Systems, will appear for the first time under the joint Körber brand. This year, the pharma experts will be represented by two high-performance machines, which will be shown for the first time in Asia.

Asian premiere: High-performance machines "Blister Expert" and "DE.SY.RE

The exhibited blister and cartoner line for solids, Blister Expert, in the high-speed version with a maximum output of 800 blisters per minute, is ideally suited to the requirements of the Asian market. The new machine generation of the Blister Expert platform is based on a modular system in which each machine is individually configured from a large number of modules. This approach, which is unique in the market, not only significantly shortens delivery times. The machine can be adapted to future requirements at any time, with significantly shorter downtimes thanks to the significantly reduced validation effort for the individual module. Changeover between product changes is accelerated by tool-free format changes and the system design, which avoids corners and angles. Predictive maintenance packages and guided format changes with augmented reality glasses ensure high machine availability of the systems, reduce possible sources of error by operators and shorten the training times for new employees. The second Körber machine, the DE-SY.RE, inspects syringes, cartridges and vials for defects and contamination quickly, precisely and without contact. Up to 36,000 containers per hour are fed individually to the inspection module by a Delta robot, inspected, sorted out 2 if necessary and then packed back into a nest safely and without gaps. The gentle, noncontact handling of the products prevents scratches and glass breakage, avoids the formation of air bubbles in the liquid and thus reduces the system's reject rates. To ensure reliable comparability and reproducibility of the inspection results, each container is checked by each camera within the inspection module, independent of speed. All components of the inspection system can be adapted according to customer requirements. In addition to the two high-performance machines, demonstrations of the Manufacturing Execution System "PAS-X" will also be shown at the Körber booth at CIPM. Interested visitors will also be given extensive insights into Körber's pharmaceutical portfolio. Daily livestream "Asia is a market with great potential and future for us," says Jörn Gossé. "For this reason, we will be present with our Körber locations in China and local service technicians as well as with strong appearances at trade fairs in Asia. It is in particular the personal exchange with our customers that gives us important impulses for the Asian market, which we can take up in our portfolio. In order to pay tribute to the special nature of our trade fair presence in many respects, Körber will be broadcasting a live stream from the trade show. On November 4 at 11 a.m. and on November 5 at 9 a.m. CET, the CIPM team will be showing machine demonstrations, conducting customer interviews and giving short presentations to give new impetus to the pharmaceutical industry. The livestream can be accessed via the link http://tiny.cc/Koerber-CIPM-2020 in Körber's virtual showroom.
