Romaco, Sonoco, TAPPI, Citizen Systems Europe...

Romaco - David Dixon, formerly sales director at packaging and processing machinery specialist Romaco UK, has succeeded Brian Moore as managing director, following Moore's decision to retire. Having begun career with Leeds-based Rose Forgrove, Dixon went on to become md of Campak in the UK before joining Romaco in 2000. A party to mark Moore's retirement was held at September's PPMA exhibition in Birmingham. His packaging machinery sector career spans over 35 years, and includes spells at Vickers and CE King, the latter as md. Romaco's UK distribution company was just a year old when Moore took over the helm in 1992.

Sonoco - Global manufacturer of consumer and industrial packaging Sonoco has elected M Jack Sanders as senior vice-president, Global Industrial Products. Previously vice-president for the same product area, Louisiana State University finance graduate Sanders joined Sonoco in 1987 as national sales and marketing manager - Wire and Cable Reels division.

TAPPI - TAPPI, the leading association for the worldwide pulp. paper, packaging and converting industries, has named Larry N Montague as its new president, where he will “provide vision and direction” for the organisation's headquarters staff and large corps of dedicated volunteer leaders. He joins from The Newark Group, an international producer of recycled paperboard and paperboard products.

Citizen Systems Europe - Fluent German speaker Mark Moore, who will be based out of Stuttgart and London, has been appointed sales and marketing director, EMEA by label, barcode and portable printer manufacturer Citizen Systems Europe. His career includes over 20 years' international experience of direct and business-to-business sales.

DataLase - Originator of the award-winning DataLase laser marking process DataLase has appointed r&d scientist and former ColorMatrix Europe and Unilever employee Anthony Jarvis as project manager for research and development. Jarvis, who will have particular responsibility for near infrared (NIR) inks, holds a PhD in Applied Organic Chemistry and a BSC degree in Colour and Polymer Chemistry from Leeds University.

Linpac - Linpac has strengthened its team with the appointment of new key account manager Linda Smith. Smith has a strong background in account handling, most recently as a Bunzl account manager working for a manufacturer of plastic equipment for catering, material handling, safety and cleaning applications.
