Wrapid extends Manchester contract packing facility

6 November 2007

The single-story warehouse is housed within part of the existing Astley premises, which the company stresses are “ideally located” close to major motorway links and thus provide “a strategic location to enable companies to serve the north of England and Scotland, reducing transport costs from elsewhere in the UK”. Both fully racked and free-standing space is available, with the latest software systems providing full stock control.

Established for over 20 years, and part of a group also well-known as a supplier of high-speed collating, auto feeding, checkweighing and labelling equipment, Wrapid Contract Services serves customers in sectors including personal care, food and pharmaceuticals. Its services include contract flowwrapping, shrinkwrapping, polywrapping, multipacking and direct mail.

Nick Storton, Wrapid Contract Services director, says: “These storage facilities will benefit both existing and new customers. Today’s business environment is focused on just-in-time deliveries, but companies are also acutely aware of their environmental responsibilities in terms of their carbon footprint, not to mention the ever-increasing costs of transportation. Our location provides the ideal gateway for improved delivery services across the north of the country.”

Wrapid Contract Services has added 30,000 sq ft of warehouse storage space to its existing 60,000 sq ft contract packing facility in north Manchester
