Weber offers 5200 printer-applicator

18 April 2005

Weber Marking Systems has launched an RFID version of its 5200 series printer-applicator.

The 5200 rfid smart label printer-applicator can print, encode, verify and apply pressure-sensitive RFID smart labels to cartons and pallet loads in one operation. There is a choice of print engines that utilise thermal transfer technology to produce smart labels with text, barcodes and graphics at 203dpi.

As labels are printed, digital information is instantly encoded onto thin, ultra-high tags embedded in the smart label material. The encoded data is then verified immediately and the label applied to the top or side of a carton or pallet load as required. Labels up to 5x6in can be dispensed at up to 12in/sec using the non-contact, tamp-blow method. If an embedded tag cannot be verified, it is rejected prior to application.

Weber also offers an RFID retrofit kit to users of the 5200 V2 printer-applicator.
