Versatile palletiser also saves costs

CSi UK's new CSi C-5000i palletiser can handle a large variety of pack types – from normal cases and open trays to diaper bundles and even bundles of a collection of cans or jars in film without a cardboard tray.

By leaving out the cardboard on film packages, the company says the system can significantly reduce costs, while savings on upstream packaging machinery and board will "guarantee" a short return on investment.

The combination of a machine control system using an industrial PC and servo-controlled movements makes it possible to palletise fragile packs like a can collation in just film. The collation of round cans with a rim on top and bottom will reportedly stay in shape and conveying and palletising will not damage the film.
