‘Upside down’ bottle tops Pentawards

4 November 2008

A limited edition Piper Heidsieck Rosé Sauvage champagne bottle won the Diamond award for Best of the Show in the 2008 Pentawards worldwide packaging design competition. In total, 27 Gold Pentawards as well as Silver and Bronze prizes were presented during a special ceremony at the Luxepack exhibition in Monaco on October 30.

The Piper Heidsieck bottle was given an ’Upside Down’ configuration by Dutch fashion designers Viktor & Rolf - it rests on its neck, with the neck and front labels, and cap foil reversed. Launched on the market at the end of October 2007 in several duty-free shops and exclusive bars, the glass bottles are covered by a sleeve produced by Sleever International.

Entries for the Pentawards 2009 will be open from 1 May 1-June 15, 2009.
