Upgrade for Xaar printheads

31 May 2005

Users of Xaar printhead technology in existing machines can now upgrade to the company's new XJ500/180CM printhead, giving them an 80% productivity increase over the standard XJ500/180.

The XJ500/180 CM enables a high native print resolution of 180dpi, firing a drop size of 75picolitres at a frequency of 7.2kHz, allowing a linear speed of one metre/sec for 180 x 180dpi print or 2m/sec for 90 x 180dpi, equating to a coding productivity of up to 500 sq m/hr with a single printhead. The printhead can be easily positioned in most orientations, making it ideal for printing on a variety of primary and secondary packaging substrates.

The XJ500/180 CM is completely compatible with existing drive electronics and data signals, making it possible to simply swap it into applications currently using a standard XJ500/180.

Alongside faster speed, its added print frequency can be used to increase ink density, an advantage in coding and marking and outer case printing applications requiring high contrast.
