Unilever and M&S to Share Packaging Visions at Plastics Recycling Expo
Returning after its successful launch in Telford in 2014, the Plastics Recycling Expo (PRE) exhibition and conference will take place on 16 and 17 June 2015 at the Telford International Centre.
Over two days, the PRE Conference will explore how the industry can boost plastics recycling, as well as the use of recycled plastics. Speakers include sustainability experts working for major brands:
- Louis Lindenberg, Global Packaging Sustainability Director, Unilever;
- Anna Wieslander, Range & Category Leader, IKEA;
- Kevin Vyse, Packaging & Environment Manager, Marks & Spencer.
Solutions for all parts of the supply chain will be covered, whether you are looking to design for recycling, influence public perceptions and recycling habits, develop end-markets, or sort highly-contaminated materials.
Tricky plastics wastes will be addressed by Bernard Chase, Sector Specialist, Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) who will cover pots, tubs and trays, and Richard McKinlay, Project Engineer at Axion Recycling who will explain how to design flexible packaging films which can be sorted for recycling. Logoplaste will present a case study on its award-winning "Ecover" packaging project which used ocean-derived waste plastic.
Plastic PRN prices and local authority targets will also be covered, and RPC's environmental manager will share details of a successful household plastic paint container recycling scheme.
PRE is supported by the British Plastics Federation Recycling Group whose chairman will lead two conference sessions including a panel debate. Other supporters include Plastics Recyclers Europe, WRAP, Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee (LARAC), RECOUP (Recycling of Used Plastics) and Smithers Rapra.
Among the many exhibitors already confirmed for PRE are: Axion Recycling, Biffa Polymers, Cherry Plastics, CK Compounds, Impact Air Systems, Plasgran, Moulding Solutions, STEINERT Elektromagnetbau GmbH and Veka Recycling.
PRE will be co-located with Plastics Design & Moulding (PDM15) www.pdmevent.com and new event: Plastics Packaging Show www.plasticspackagingshow.com. Visitors who register for PRE will have access to the exhibition floor of all three events, featuring over 100 companies and organisations.
