UK gets bag-in-box system

17 March 2006

Companies in the UK needing to produce and fill their own welded bags for bag-in-box applications can now buy a German-engineered bag-in-box system designed for easy handling and high efficiency from Middlesex-based plastic forming and welding equipment specialist Anchor Plastics Machinery.

The Kiefel Bag-in-Box machine can create a wide range of bag shapes, with 3-20 litre capacities, from a single roll of material at 20-30 /min. Anchor, Kiefel’s sole UK and Eire distributor, says the single or multi-layer plastic foil bag material is UV light resistant, impervious to smells and allows neither water vapour nor air transmission.

The outlet tap connecting the outside of the box to the full bag inside prevents air entering the bag and staying between the liquid contents and the outlet.

A cardboard folding box protects bags against light and facilitates transportation and stacking.
