Stölzle Flaconnage (STF), part of Stölzle Glass Group (STO) based in Austria, is celebrating a multi-million pound upgrade of its UK factory which has created the flagship of the European group’s prestige spirits and beauty division.
The revamp of the entire factory in Knottingley has cost around £15 million and took well over two years. Capacity has been increased from a four-line to a five-line operation. The ‘master plan’ for STF included the rebuilding of the furnace, enlarging the cold end area with new equipment on three lines, and adding a new mould making shop.
Johannes Schick, CEO of STO and Chairman of the Board of STF, says: ?”The upgrade carried out in the teeth of the recession has introduced state-of-the-art decoration machinery and increased the size of the decoration facility by over 50%.”
He adds: “It has brought an already efficient glass moulding and decoration factory into the 21st century and placed it at the forefront of the prestige spirits and perfumery and personal care markets.”
Stölzle Glass Group, part of CAG Holding owned by Dr Cornelius Grupp, also operates in Poland and the Czech Republic.
