Uhlmann claims new single lane packaging line is world's fastest

8 August 2006

Germany’s Uhlmann Pac-Systeme has launched what it claims is the world’s fastest single-lane packaging machine, with an output of up to 500 cartons/min.

The Blister Express Center 500 (BEC 500) comprises Uhlmann’s new B1550 blister line, including a new feeder, and the “high performance” C 2504 cartoner. Able to quickly and efficiently package batches of between 30,000 and 150,000 blisters, the equipment is said to be ideally suited to “common pharmaceutical order volumes”.

The line is based on a “completely new line concept” involving a continuous, self-regulating packaging process. Other key features include continuous rotary sealing, a travelling forming station that ensures tension-free forming and maximum process reliability thanks to the elimination of start and stop phases, and infrared film heating prior to forming.
