Two sides to wrapping story

7 April 2003

An advanced wrapping machine designed for the stationery, publishing, printing and education sectors has been launched by Wrapid on behalf of German company Pfankuch.

The VP-655 is ideal for wrapping items up to 15mm thick, such as greeting cards, leaflets and labels. Its advanced features include a pneumatic sealing head and a top cycle speed of 120 packs/min. The sealing jaw is independent enabling the cross-sealing of packs for a tighter wrap.

Servo driven, the Pfankuch has a CAM fixed frame and can handle dimensions from phone cards to packs up to 390x300mm.

The VP-655 machine uses two separate rolls of film to ensure seam-less packing.

It also offers the opportunity to use two types of film such as metallic bottom film and printed top film. This may result in cost and time savings achieved over conventional single films.
