Turnkey project for Adpal at mail order wine company

19 February 2007

Adpal in Nelson, Lancashire has secured a “substantial order' from the UK's largest mail order wine distributor for equipment to automatically palletise cases of wine.

At the system's heart is a Costi PSP200 gantry robot which can handle 12 pallet building positions simultaneously. Cases are barcode scanned and sorted automatically to the respective pick and place gentry head before being picked as single or multiples and placed onto a pallet according to destination and courier.

Both full and empty pallets are handled by an automated transfer car system, with full ones then transferred to a Tosa 115 series automatic rotating arm machine for stretchwrapping prior to despatch.

Adpal says winning this order demonstrates its “turnkey” capabilities; it has supplied similar systems based around Adpal and Costi machinery to the same customer site previously.
