20 September 2002

ABB has launched its fastest 6-axis production robot yet – the IRB 140T (Turbo).

Building on the established IRB 140 which boasts one of the fastest cycle times for an articulated arm robot with a 5kg payload, the new robot is 10% faster, having been timed at 0.77sec to complete defined work of 25 - 300 - 25 mm.

In packaging applications the Turbo is suitable for picking and materials handling and can be either floor or ceiling mounted. It can be supplied in a range of configurations, including a standard version, a sealed and clean room version.

IRB 140T will make its debut at Interplas 2002, 31 September – 4 October at the NEC.
