Traysealer buy helps grower keep supermarket happy

27 July 2007

The machines are sealing the thousands of packs of packs of cauliflower and broccoli florets, purple sprouting broccoli and mixed vegetables the company supplies to Asda stores UK-wide every week. Packaging Automation supported Lincolnshire Field Products, which had no previous traysealing experience, by undertaking trials at its Cheshire base. These confirmed the suitability of the chosen packaging materials and ensured the sealed packs met stringent quality standards. By using a specially designed modified atmosphere film the vegetable grower has achieved a longer product shelf life and, it says, improved overall product presentation via the topsealed tray format and a printed film.
