Tickets still available for glittering gala Starpack evening

20 April 2007

Over 500 guests from throughout the UK packaging, brand owning and retailing community will gather to celebrate the best in packaging innovation and creativity. This year's expert judges spent three whole days in March whittling down over 300 entries to arrive at the 70 finalists, and thence faced an even tougher challenge in selecting the final roster of Gold, Bronze, Silver and Sponsored Award winners.

Drawn from across the retailer, brand owner, design, association and consultancy communities, the distinguished panel included Steve Kelsey, md of London design and branding consultancy PI3 Design; Sally Bowden, chair, consultant and former print technologist, Food Packaging Technology, Marks & Spencer; Lina Mistry, packaging technologist, HJ Heinz Frozen & Chilled Foods, and Clare Bates, packaging manager, Wm Morrison Supermarkets.

Alongside witnessing the presentation of the awards by TV comedian extraordinaire Tony Hawks. guests at the 2007 Starpack evening will be treated to Hawks' unique brand of humour (he has appeared frequently on TV comedy programmes such as “Have I Got News for You”, “They Thinks It's All Over” , “A Bit of Fry and Laurie” and “Red Dwarf”) and music from 10-piece band Soul Traders. The evening should also provide an excellent contact-making opportunity in a relaxed, informal setting.
