Thermoformer features infrared top web heating system

Making its debut on the Ulma Packaging stand at this year's PPMA exhibition was the TF Supra Thin, a “competitively-priced” thermoformer suitable for food, non-food and medical products.

Ulma says the machine produces an easy-to-open, attractive pack with the product held firmly on a rigid base, with a tight seal to stop slippage and enhance presentation. A “highly efficient” infrared top web heating system makes the unit quicker to start from cold, reportedly improving energy efficiency and cutting costs.

Also shown for the first time in the UK was Ulma's new Florida E - the electronic version of the company's Florida flowwrapper, which completes Ulma's conversion of its entire flowwrap offer to electronic status. The robust, entry-level machine now benefits from a three-motor system that gives complete control over the various drive axes. Additional features include faster operation, less operator involvement and greater programming flexibility, with fewer mechanical adjustments and components.
