Intertrade Packaging has launched its Dura-Flex range of synthetic materials as an alternative to laminated boards. Billed as very lightweight, it should compare competitively against traditional laminated boards. The product is available from 35micron to 700micron in thickness. Being a recyclable plastic, Dura-Flex is non-tear and waterproof and is ideal for cold store and freezer applications. In one of its first applications it is said to have produced a good print quality result while replacing a 450 micron laminated board with one of 250 microns.
