The extra sensory straw pole says yes

24 July 2003

Drinking from a straw has become an extra sensory experience thanks to a development from Tetra Pak that ensures that the beverage hits all the right spots.

The U-shaped sensory straw has a uniquely designed end that has been sealed with four holes punched around the top of the straw. This is said to target flavours at the four sensory zones inside the mouth.

Children who chew straws to 'make the drink taste better' were the inspiration behind the development. A Tetra Pak market survey revealed that 72% of consumers preferred the new straw.
