Tetra Pak investment

7 March 2005

Food ingredient manufacturer Macphie has installed two new Tetra Pak A3/Flex filling machines as part of a £2.5M expansion at its Glenbervie, Aberdeenshire factory.

The expansion, which follows strong sales growth, has also seen the company increase its warehousing by 25%.

Macphie, which produces ambient mixes and concentrates, glazes, dairy cream alternatives, icings, frozen and chilled soups and sauces for the bakery, food service and food manufacturing sectors, says the investment will enable it to "improve its value" to customers and offer a wider range of pack shapes, sizes, configurations and closures.

Alongside boosting capacity, the Tetra Pak equipment will help optimise production efficiencies, increase speed and enhance flexibility by allowing it to switch rapidly between different packaging systems.
