Tetra Pack cracks egg storage problem

19 April 2005

Tetra Pak has unscrambled the secret of safe frozen eggs for the foodservice sector in a new product packed in Tetra Rex 1-litre cartons and distributed by Framptons.

Frozen Easy Eggs can be kept in the freezer for up to a year and the Tetra Rex 1-litre cartons, which hold 1kg or the equivalent of 20 medium eggs, take up 60% less storage space than the equivalent quantity in shells.

The liquid eggs, which are suited to batch production, can be bought in larger and more cost-effective quantities by the smaller user and stored for future use without fear of limited shelf life.

The product contains 100% liquid egg with no additives or preservatives. It is pasteurised, homogenised and packed under the HACCP quality assurance programme.
