21 October 2003

Ilapack says it has completely redesigned its Astra inverted flow wrapper to offer a more efficient method of packaging irregularly shaped products. Claimed to be "extremely competitively priced", it is has an electronic self-measuring facility to automatically adjust pack length according to the dimensions of each product.

Additional features, such as automated product size changes and integrated indexing belt, are also now included as standard.

Capable of speeds up to 50 packs/min, the Astra can produce pack sizes that are unlimited in length and up to 320mm in width and 230mm in height, using solid or micro-perforated polypropylene, PY, shrink film and certain grades of polyethylene.
