Swiss chocolate producer Chocolat Frey has selected MeadWestvaco's Crescendo premium-coated one-side paperboard, with its "ultra-bright, blue-white styling and mirror-smooth surface" for the launch of its private-label large-format, thin chocolate bars, 'Superior', 'Swiss Delice Suprème' and 'Tastefully Yours'.
The board, which MeadWestvaco says exhibits superior performance in embossing/debossing /foil stamping, film and foil lamination and "other finishing processes", has been used to give the chocolate bars a premium, luxury feel.
The packs are produced by REGIA HighPack, whose specifying consultants recommended Crescendo. Before committing to the paperboard, however, Chocolat Frey conducted consumer test marketing, which "went well".
