Graduate designers from UK universities and colleges are being challenged to create a revolutionary packaging concept that answers today’s concerns about sustainability by entering the new Student Starpack Awards for Graduates.
The pack should not only save materials but must also effectively change the way a product is packed and/or formed. FMCG markets, such as fruit and vegetables, snacks, everyday food, luxury products, toiletries, health and medical, and beauty are areas the designers may consider.
Sponsored by design consultancy PI3, the competition is open to students who graduated in the summer 2008 from either full or part-time design courses at both UK, and European colleges and universities. Prizes include two weeks work experience at PI3, in London, with accommodation and expenses included.
The Student Starpack Awards 2009 are part of Starpack 2009, which also includes the Schools Starpack Awards, the Starpack Industry Awards and the Starpack Summit. The deadline for entries is February 25, 2009, and the awards presentations will take place in London on May 21.
