Starpack date change

16 April 2009

The date for the Starpack Industry Awards Ceremony and Dinner has been changed to Wednesday, September 30, 2009. It will now be held in conjunction with the PPMA Show.

Rachel Brooks, awards and Starpack manager, explains: “Like other things, the recession has placed the Starpack Awards under pressure, as it has created a level of uncertainty amongst potential sponsors which has prevented them from committing to Starpack. Secondly, we have been concerned about the numbers of people able to afford to attend a high priced London-based awards event.

“Therefore, we have been in talks with various parties to enable us to maintain the quality and high standard of the awards at a more affordable cost. The result has been to cut costs in several areas and we have agreed with the PPMA and Reed Exhibitions that we will hold the dinner in conjunction with the PPMA Show.

“This is a very positive way forward, as it combines both Starpack and the PPMA Show in what we feel will be an excellent event for the packaging industry. The cost of the event will be more affordable, and therefore, has the potential to draw on a larger number of attendees.”
