UK bakery business W C Rowe has switched to high performance metal detection systems from Fortress Technology.
Under the contract, in addition Fortress will look after its own and other manufacturers’ equipment used by WC Rowe at its manufacturing sites in South West England.
So far, there are five Fortress systems at five separate lines across three WC Rowe sites. They operate at speeds of 30 - 600units/hour and inspect a variety of product lines, such as scones, sandwiches, pasties, sausage rolls and slices.
“We value Fortress’s ability to source parts for obsolete equipment as well as maintaining this equipment when other companies would press for replacement. This allows us to replace machinery at a time of our choosing,” says Mick Stevens, of WC Rowe.
The firm has more than 20 shops, including concessions at three Asda stores. It also supplies Rowe's branded and own label products to national retailers and supermarkets throughout the UK.
