The machine was developed by Romaco to handle the B D (Becton Dickinson) Uniject prefill injection device. This eliminates the need for filling syringes from vials or ampoules, provides dosing accuracy to cut down on medication waste, prevents injection device reuse and maintains the vaccine cold chain up to the point of use.
Functions handled by the CS 2/200 include taking the pre-filled BD Uniject devices from the reel, labelling them and inspecting for label presence, cutting into individual units and inspecting firstly for liquid presence and then for any particulate contamination. Batch overprint is applied and inspected online and advanced reject verification systems ensure products failing any of the inspection checks are safely rejected.
The CS 2/200 has been installed in Indonesia as part of a complete line which also includes a Siebler HM2 four-side-seal machine that will pack the devices into individual pouches.
