Short-run label printers establish own forum

1 June 2004

Twenty-four label printers have joined forces to form the British Short Run Label Association, whose key task will be to promote the interests of the many smaller label printers involved principally in short-run label work.

The association has developed its own website [www.bsrla.org.uk], private e-mail discussion forum and code of conduct to promote ethical, fair and sustainable trade in the marketplace, and is also investigating group buying for some materials.

Dr Adrian Steele of Mercian Labels said: "We hope to establish a useful forum for the smaller UK label printer to discuss topical issues such as the current wave of material prices. Existing organisations like FINAT have little relevance for smaller UK label printers and converters."
