Retail Release July 2014
Sheridan & Co Selfridges Installation
Retail design agency Sheridan & Co has completed six new Clarins installations within Selfridges, as part of the store's annual six-week event, The Beauty Project.
The installation highlighted the powerful properties of natural plant ingredients and the science used in the Clarins skincare range. The project included giant molecular bubbles that were filled with plants and Clarins products. These bubbles were suspended throughout the Oxford Street store, including down the length of the Selfridges atrium.
Small satellite sites were dotted across the shop floor, informing and directing customers to a central concession point in the Beauty Hall. Here consumers received a free consultation, and following the natural theme, test tubes containing herb seeds to take home and grow. Technology was utilised within this main stand to distribute randomised free tester products in the form of a playful Clarins machine.
Sheridan & Co has overseen the entire project, including concept, creative design, development and lead project management and delivery.
"We have a great relationship with Clarins, having worked together for the last 31 years," commented Michael Sheridan, founder and chairman of Sheridan & Co.
"Within Selfridges we created a wholly original concept that delivered a major statement about Clarins' core values, organic ingredients and beauty heritage."
A team of 40 members of staff at Sheridan & Co worked on the project, including leading the management of ten suppliers across production, graphics, audio visual, digital and technical installations.
Michael Sheridan went on to say:
"The team here have traditionally handled the majority of flagship events for Clarins, so we have a wealth of experience delivering installations of this size. Laminated MDF, glass, fabricated metal work and plastic were the key materials utilised on the build."
Robert Gray, associate director at Clarins, added:
"We were delighted with the finished product in the Selfridges store. The meticulous planning and co-ordination by the Sheridan & Co team supported by the highly skilled and fully engaged specialist contractors, has delivered a significant installation for all involved."
