Contract packer SGL Co-packing is expanding its contract packing and manufacturing activities, initially in the UK.
Based in Nelson, Lancashire, the company (formerly Strategy Group Ltd, part of The Keswick Enterprises Group) has previously focused exclusively on the cereals, petcare, confectionery and other foods sectors.
But SGL Co-packing has now announced its intention to expand its activities in 2014 to cover pharmaceuticals, gifts and toys, petcare and all dry food categories.
To support its development, the company has made three significant senior management appointments and introduced a new visual identity, in line with other The Keswick Enterprises Group subsidiary companies.
Andrew Palmer joins as chairman of SGL Co-packing; a food industry consultant advising companies on strategy, structure and performance since 2009, David Hogg joins as head of technical support, bringing a wealth of experience in the areas of food manufacture and packaging; and Frank McMahon, sales manager, has extensive sales experience in the pharmaceuticals, grocery, gift and other non-food consumer product and B2B sectors, having previously been business development manager at Faith Products Ltd.
The Keswick Enterprises Group executive chairman John Harvey CBE adds that SGL Co-packing will expand its activities “not just in the UK, but ultimately across other parts of Europe as well”.
