Sensors help keep things clean

Wenglor says its new InoxSens optical sensors fulfil special requirements for industrial hygiene and cleaning in the food, beverage and pharmaceuticals industries. The sensor functions are integrated into a rugged stainless steel housing that is water-proof , resistant to chemicals and unaffected by high pressure cleaning systems.

The sensors are made entirely of food-safe materials - glass for the pharmaceuticals industry and plastics for food. When installed or adjusted, they retain their gap-free unity with the machine. They are mounted in a seamless fashion by mounting tubes without screws – a further hygiene factor. Even sensor adjustment is hygienic: accomplished in a capacitive manner through the housing with the help of touch teach-in.

The sensor system is integrated nearly invisibly into the system; a complete system is created all of a piece.

A wide variety of wenglor products can be enclosed in the housing, such as scanners, OCR readers or vision sensors, illumination devices, colour, luminescence, print mark and reflex sensors.
