SCA solves logistics problem for Nestlé

7 March 2005

SCA Packaging's Industrial Division has developed a new range of bulk packaging systems, solving material flow and logistical issues for Nestlé UK.

Nestlé wanted a more efficient means of transporting its confectionery products to its sites and for external co-packing or further processing.

In response SCA developed a new all-fibre 1200x1000 STAX pallet comprising three compartments, each capable of holding 200kg of product. The STAX sits at the end of the production line, where each compartment is filled, with the line operating at maximum speed.

Made from SCA's high performance Calibre, the pallets can be double stacked in storage and transit.

Since the pallets can be used in all areas, there is no need to decant products or use smaller pallets. Die-cut apertures enable users to decant measured batches a compartment at a time.
