Sato's latest industrial printer, the GT Series direct thermal/thermal transfer machine, is positioned as the premium model in the company's 'e' series range of industrial printers.
The new GT 4in printers employ a 32-bit high-speed RISC for maximum throughput and can print large quantities of labels containing barcodes, text and detailed graphics. The incorporation of a 609dpi printhead means smaller 2-D codes such as Micro PDF417 and Micro QR can also be produced with "excellent legibility".
Thanks to the use of its Embedded Basic Language (SEMBL), Sato says the GT is also the most "intelligent" printer in its class. Users can load customised programs, enabling generation of complicated label formats, without connection to an external PC.
Able to print at 300mm/sec, and available with a choice of printheads, the GT is also equipped WPC Plus (Web-based Printer Control Plus), Sato's new tool for controlling any of its thermal transfer barcode printers through any web-enabled wired or wireless device.
