Saint-Gobain launches strategic move

26 May 2010

Saint-Gobain has brought its manufacturing activities in glass bottles and jars under a new international brand called Verallia.

The aim is ‘to project its expertise, illustrate its capacity for innovation and its sustainable development strategy, and maintain its reputation as the benchmark for the glass packaging industry’, states the company.

The launch of Verallia coincides with Saint-Gobain’s refocused corporate strategy and communications. The legal entities of the companies of the Packaging Sector remain unchanged.

The Verallia brand will reflect the strength of its manufacturing and sales network, and the close relationship with customers and business partners, says Jérôme Fessard, CEO of the Packaging Sector.

The second largest global manufacturer in the market, Saint-Gobain Packaging had 2009 sales of €3.4 billion and manufactured 25 billion bottles and jars. It has 60 industrial sites in 12 countries, six technical centres and 15,000 employees.
