The company says its new £2m facility boasts state-of-the-art equipment which will enable it to meet the stringent manufacturing and packaging standards of the agrochemicals, industrial chemicals, animal health and medical supplies markets. Safapac has already been awarded a GMP Medicines Licence and ISO accreditation.
The factory layout has been specifically created to segregate activities, allowing simultaneous handling of a wide variety of chemicals with no risk of cross-contamination. Manufacturing and packing facilities are designed for flammable, veterinary and noxious chemicals, and equipped with dust and vapour abatement technology to protect staff and the environment. Meanwhile specialist sachet filling booths, some of which incorporate special dehumidifiers to allow handling of water-soluble films, have been created to accommodate growing demand for sachet presentations.
Martin Steele, Safapac md, says: “Product formulations and packing requirements are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and at the same time stricter regulations are being put in place to govern the handling of these materials. This places added pressure on businesses to continually meet these new demands.
“This latest investment enables our business to respond to the fast-changing nature of the markets the company serves, and satisfy the quality, safety and environmental standards expected of a strategic outsourcing partner.”
