RPC Bebo UK Corby’s multi-layer plastic trays have been chosen by rice products manufacturer Veetee for its new microwaveable convenience range, Veetee Dine In.
Using a ‘groundbreaking’ process, Veetee Dine In is made using natural white rice, rather than the usual easy-cook varieties used in other convenience rice products, to give its range a competitive edge, by delivering ‘restaurant quality’ products.
The packaging required was for an ambient product with a shelf life of up to one year. A tray format with printed film, rather than pouch format was specified to give product visibility, easy storage and safe handling when hot.
As the tray needed to be compatible with the processing machinery, Veetee initially sourced its packaging from abroad, but soon looked for a UK-based manufacturer that could meet its specific requirements.
