RPC and Venus take relationship to the "ultra"

19 February 2007

RPC says its “excellent relationship” with Greek fruit packer Venus Growers led to the company selecting its Classic Ultra plastic jar for packaging a new product range.

Venus Growers has reportedly long championed plastic packaging's benefits as an alternative to traditional tin cans, both in convenience and product presentation terms. With consumers increasingly recognising the same qualities, the company decided to diversify into a plastic jar format. Venus already uses thermoformed barrier cups from RPC Bebo Nederland; it felt the RPC Group's co-extrusion blowmoulding expertise made it the ideal partner to produce the new fruit packs.

Jar production is shared between RPC Corby and RPC Kutenholz, while the closure is from RPC Halstead. The 1 litre container is produced in PP/EVOH/PP for excellent barrier protection. A transparent wraparound label enhances pack appearance.
