Riverside takes silk

18 March 2004

Riverside Plastics has spent £180 000 on its first four-colour silk-screen press from Omso Novax, effectively increasing bottle decorating capacity at its Pontypridd plant in Wales by 50%.

"The new four-colour capability will enable us to decorate with greater flexibility and cope with customers' demand peaks and troughs more quickly," says sales and marketing director Graham McKenzie.

"The press is capable of giving a more pleasing finish and coping with more complex designs. Most of our bottles are designed for highly visible toiletry applications where, literally, the bottle is the brand."

The spend was supported by the Welsh Assembly Government.
