Rieke's vending valve for juices

19 April 2004

Rieke Dispensing has launched an all-plastic self-venting valve closure for juice containers used in vending machines.

Prior to the JV1 valve's introduction, Rieke says the beverage industry used non-vented closures that required the container to be pierced before use, causing potential hygiene problems and inconvenience for operators.

Rieke's alternative, non-return venting valve fits onto the standard receiving neck of the IMI Cornelius machine predominantly used for juice dispensing, and allows continuous unrestricted liquid flow, without affecting the juice's Brix [sugar-to-acid] ratio.

Venting is also achieved without panelling of the pack sides. The valve's elastomeric construction provides a superior leak-proof sealing performance.
