RFID summit set for May 06

28 November 2005

The challenges facing the packaging sector as retailers and brand owners gear up for RFID adoption, how the labelling sector has spearheaded

converter activity to date and how tags can be successfully incorporated into many different packaging types to provide maximum performance will be among key topics discussed at a major RFID conference and exhibition being hosted in London next May by Packaging Today's sister publication RFID Solutions.

Supported by leading UK e-commerce, barcoding and RFID organisation GS1UK, with whom RFID Solutions co-hosted a successful RFID conference at

Westminster last Summer, and a number of high-profile industry players, RFID Solutions 2006 will include an entire conference stream devoted to the challenges facing the packaging and manufacturing sector.

The 2005 event attracted over 250 delegates and 27 exhibitors, making it Europe¹s largest RFID-dedicated event. As with the inaugural event, high

profile personnel from a wide range of companies and organisations have been invited to speak, including Wal-Mart, Tesco, Virgin Airways, Kraft Foods, Germany¹s Metro Group, France's Carrefour, Procter & Gamble, Diageo, Eli Lilly, Oracle, Cambridge University, Rexam, Bemrose Booth, Precisia and the Auto-ID Lab.

RFID Solutions 2006 will be held at London¹s Novotel West hotel in Hammersmith on May 10. To be kept up-to-date with further information in the programme, email your details to shennessy@wilmington.co.uk quoting RFID
