Rexam opens its first plastic packaging plant in Poland

1 August 2006

Rexam, the global consumer packaging company, has opened its first plastic packaging plant in Poland, where it already has two glass plants, at Gostyn and Wyszkow.

The new Lodz facility, 130 kms west of Warsaw, provides further evidence of the company’s strategy of investing in growth and merging markets. The greenfield project, part of the acquisition of Precise Technology in December 2005, successfully began production in mid-April. Rexam says it will now be able to offer existing customers in the home and personal care markets fast, reliable deliveries of plastic components to destinations all over Europe.

The new 4,000 sq m facility will house 14 moulding machines with high-speed robotics and assembly. Capabilities include plastic injection moulding, manual and automated assembly, ultrasonic welding, labelling and other “added value” activities.
