'We must develop robust relationships between suppliers and recyclers of used plastics, and the market for recyclate. Getting this supply chain functioning effectively is a key issue,' he says.
Funding from the UK Government, EU and other sources will be used to increase recycling opportunities. 'Millions of pounds of new funding are available to develop plastics recycling this year. However, it is absolutely vital that UK plastics recycling business secures and makes the best use of these new resources,' adds Mr Simmons.
