Quick faulty label removal system

26 May 2009

Newman has developed the Faulty Label Removal (FLR) system for use with its range of pharmaceutical labelling equipment.

The FLR can handle both paper and clear labels up to production speeds of 550 cpm, with a full physical label reconciliation capability. Once a problem has been detected by the scanning devices (including bar code reader, missing overprint detector, OCV camera and 2D matrix code reader), the label will be separated and transferred to a paper roll for batch inspection.

John Clayton, md, says: “The problem with systems currently in the market is that many have to slow the labelling machine down to remove the faulty label prior to application and some accumulate faulty labels on top of each other on a sleeve, making physical reconciliation impossible. The new system overcomes the deficiencies of such existing machines.”
