Quadpack Spain cosmetics screen-printing acquisition

17 February 2014

Cosmetic packaging provider Quadpack has purchased Krampak, a well-established Spanish screen-printing company based in Torelló, in the heart of Catalonia’s ‘Cosmetic Valley’.

Quadpack will make a “substantial investment over the next few months” in order to upgrade facilities at the newest member of its group of companies.

Once complete, Krampak will help improve efficiencies, accelerate response times and increase flexibility for Quadpack’s customers, the Spain-based company says.

“Our clients are increasingly demanding shorter lead times to help them react tactically to market changes,” says Quadpack CEO Tim Eaves.

“What’s more, combined with our facilities at Technotraf Wood Packaging, we will be able to offer a host of manufacturing and finishing services right here in Europe, from bespoke wooden components, through screen-printing, spray painting and, eventually, warehousing.”

However sourcing in Asia will still remains “an important part” of what the company does, Eaves adds: “Technological and economical benefits continue to exist in that territory. What we are doing in Spain essentially helps overcome some of the logistical shortfalls.”

Krampak provides decoration services to the beauty industry, including screen-printing, tampography, thermal printing, digital printing and laser engraving.

A relaunch of the revamped Krampak facilities is planned for September this year.
