QC overhaul for Stateside

1 August 2004

Stateside's objective was to gain control over raw materials usage and it says it soon became clear that to maximise the full potential of the investment, a complete overhaul of QC facilities and reporting procedures would be necessary, including the installation of data capture software.

The combination systems, one for each of the main production lines, were custom built and a specialised laser cut guarding and minimum damage reject system was designed in conjunction to ensure maximum suitability of the machines. MIACS line management software was then installed to facilitate production of daily reports.

Steve Hardie, site general manager, commented: "A number of issues were considered before making our final decision; quality and price were both important. We were looking for a partner that we could trust to get the job right; Cintex presented themselves well and were by far the most professional company that we spoke to.

"We now have good control over raw materials usage, wastage has been significantly reduced and we have received a rapid payback on the equipment. The complete turnaround in materials handling has made a huge difference to the product quality and consistency."
