Putting on the post print glitz

29 May 2003

MeadWestvaco Packaging Resources Group has developed a premium quality, coated, bleached linerboard that it claims will give corrugated box plants superior post print graphic reproduction.

"Corrugators and sheet plants with high-end, multicolour flexo presses are capable of producing eye-catching packages but, until now, they haven't had a substrate to do so," says product manager Bob Lippincott. "Our coated post print liner is designed to win business in high-end packaging markets."

Coated post print liner is a solid fibre, double coated, bleached C1S paperboard designed to be roll-fed into corrugators prior to flexographic post printing. Its claimed benefits include GE86 brightness. It is also said to lessen the fluted washboard effect that can distort printing.
