Push button flip-top

Plastohm has launched what it believes is the market's first ever push button flip-top closure following over two years of in-depth r&d.

Designed primarily for use with toiletry bottles containing products like shampoos and shower gels, the injection-moulded PopUp cap is simply pushed to open, and can be accessed using one hand. Plastohm says it took account of recent scientific studies on the evolution of hand morphology and body language in designing the cap. One study showed the thumb has "become the most muscular and dextrous digit for individuals under 25", reflecting the growing use of remote controls, mobile phones, texting and video games.

PopUp, which the company says also caters for those with reduced manual dexterity, is now available on a range of standard 200 and 250ml bottles.
