Pug seeks a home

18 March 2004

South Wales-based Riverside Plastics' new 25cl Pug is a 'pug dog'-shaped bottle which Riverside believes will be ideal as a brand building tool.

Currently at proto-type stage, with tooling manufactured and filling line trials undertaken, the space-efficient pack can be extrusion blow-moulded in any polymer and, when filled and sleeved, "made to form a range of lovable, collectable characters". A choice of colours and closures is available.

'Project Pug' arose as a joint exercise by Riverside and Marlborough-based designer Tin Horse. "Design shapes are continually reinforcing brands," says Riverside marketing director Graham McKenzie. "With Pug we not only have the merchandising opportunity presented by the shape, but also an extremely efficient, stackable bottle that can present its brand message on all four surfaces."
