Print and apply front face labeller ensures accuracy

21 October 2003

A new pack labelling system for front face labelling packs and cases at speeds up to 100 packs/min was introduced by Cobalt IS. Designed to be positioned directly after the shrink-wrap tunnel, the labeller does not require pack turning. The company says that by incorporating full label presence and barcode quality checking, with automatic rework, it can ensure every pack is accurately labelled and that manual rework is eliminated.

The print and apply solution has peer labellers controlled through a single panel which interact to continue operations during consumable replenishment and to recover from error conditions. At batch changeover, new data and label designs can be rapidly downloaded via an Ethernet or from the touch screen panel.

Cobalt says secure operating procedures ensure new batch details are checked and confirmed before proceeding.
